Without Nintendo I wouldn't be gaming as I am today.

That's for me is more than enough.

This. If I didn't decide on a whim to get a DS, I probably wouldn't be here today. And the Wii was what it took to reinvigorate my interest in consoles. (My later finding Atlus was what got me back into some more traditional games...)

Around the Network

As a kids I had fun as hell on Nintendo consoles. But as teenager I switched school and thing were pretty harsh for me. I did not had a lot of friends in the first years. Nintendo really helped me going trough that. Nintendo games like smash bros melee, Zelda, mario and pokemon were a way to escape reality. I remember also playing Animal Crossing and then disapearing somewhere else.

I know that sounds pretty stupid but I'm sure that in someway other people felt like that too. I do not hate sony or microsoft but I just have this kind of emotional link that makes Nintendo a part of me. Of course it is a business lusting for profit after all. But still, it feels like I can still looks at Nintendo franchise with child's eyes.

Nintendo is/are the Beatles of the video game universe, Miyamoto is the fifth Beatle. If Nintendo is just a video game company, then the Beatles were just a band.

They were/are both much more than that though of course.  Its because they don't seperate thier ideals and what they believe in as people from the business they are conducting. Instead they marry the two and infuse all of their products with a message of brotherhood, wonderment, quality, reliability and always accompanied by the kindly smirking suggestion that maybe life isn't so serious after all.

Nintendo is the guru at top of the mountain who knows that infinate love is all there is.

I wouldnt say they mean anything to my life , but their significance to gaming really is second to none.

They have ip's Sony and MS can only dream about and those ip's are the face of gaming today.

They created a game (OoT) that even to this day , games with millions being thrown at them, cant even hold a candle to it.

They made the best gaming device in the DS , a device where unique experiences are the norm.

Nintendo is gaming.

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!
