Not at all. I ignore achievements completely.

Love em'. They set goals for me in a game. They also add replay value and reason to put an extra few hours in your games.

It used to be extremely rare that I would play a game again after beating it the first time. With trophies, it actually gives me enough incentive to do a second play through. So for me, I like them as I am getting more for my money now (playing through more than once). I would not be upset if they did away with them though.

I would only care about them if they did something like in metroid Prime 3 as every time I earn more I can go the store and unlock artwork or music or bumber stickers for my ship or a bobblehead mii in the game.

So if I can earn and spend them for rewards then I would care but as for most that are out there it's just stupid and the dumbest thing to ever come out for gaming plus the annoying stupid ass sigs people sport,all it says to me is "der look how much time I wasted for nothing,I'm special" bah

I used to think it was the lamest idea ever.

Once I bought the 360 however and started to get random achievements I was a convert.

Its a really clever idea that was done really well.

Dead Rising was my first played to death game and to be honest the achievements were superb.

How can anyone resist getting the "Group Photo" achievement or "Tour Guide". I couldnt at any rate.

That said it all depends how the awards have been built into the game.

As I wrote in a previous thread, FarmVille made me an achievement whore, its achievements on their turn helped making me a FV addict. But now, the excess, with a corollary of nasty communication problems and FBK excessive traffic and homepage crowding they helped causing, is starting making me hate them and FV itself too. Still addict, but addiction is creaking.

Edit: I'm still totally addicted to do every possible sidequest in the RPG's I like, though, and I find them far more enjoyable achievements (in a wider meaning).

I like getting Platinums but if it's not doable, I don't bother, all other trophies are neither here nor there for me.

They are pointless. The only thing you get is the right to brag about having no life outside gaming

It always cracks me up when someone says something about one group of people don't have a life for liking whatever but then they forget they're the one on the internet gaming forum.
