Not yet. If you have a slim you are not affected and if you have a Fat look at the bottom there is a sticker and there stands the model type:

beginnig with CECH

 

If you have a fat model beginnig with CECHL or CECHP your model is safe and you can play with it.

You don't have to be signed into the PSN to get a firmware update.  If this were the case, how would people with no PSN account update their firmware?  Try it yourself - go to System Update on your XMB and do it via Internet.  It'll connect just fine and tell you that you already have the latest.

The only problem is if someone actually doesn't have internet.

Step 1 : go to XMB

Step 2 : go to System Update

Step 3 : notice that "Internet" is NOT the only option

I know you can do it via a device, but if you don't have a device... or something, then it is a problem.

ANyway, I'm sure it will fix itself by 00:00 GMT anyway.

I really hope this comes down to the need for a firmware update, and people complain about having to do it via USB.  To them, I will say "you have a $300-500 game system, $500-2000 television to play it on, pay $40-60 per game, and you won't buy a $10 memory stick?"

 

Same thing I say to people who play online games without a mic.  derrrrrrrr

Im so glad i have a slim ps3,no problemo for me,however,this a funny bug comon,why the ps3????,the psp has the same XmB and mine has no problem,its passed to 1 mars haha,hope sony resolve the problem cause,with GoW3 coming........

um, because the PS3 and PSP are completely different hardware systems running completely different software?

so i can carry on playing pro 2010 at midnight then,we'll see

there must be some unlucky fellow living in the middle of nowhere without internet but has a ps3 and wondering what the hell is going on,i wan't on the net properly until a few months ago,it would of been me
