Forums - Sony Discussion - GOW3 Ultimate Edition pre-orders giving trouble to retailers?!

So even though the graphics look like the best this generation has to offer BAR NONE... you're gonna get it in the bargain bin because it's not native 1080p? Just for that?

This is great news because I believe I have a solution to your dilemma. Get the game, take a sharpe marker, and do a little black out work. Additionally, you can put some white out over the sharpee mark and write '1080p'.

There you go, now it's in 1080p and you won't be able to tell the difference. Problem solved

Actually I can tell the difference. My 60" tv aside, I could tell the difference on a computer monitor. I knew right away when I played Halo 3 that there was no way it was 720p and I was right on that one, too.

And yes, I'll get it in the bargain bin. I would have gotten it day one if we weren't promised 1080p@60 for all these years, but the promise was broken so I'm not purchasing it. Also, GOW isn't all that exciting for me anyway. I bought the collection and it was the first time I played both games. If I can wait that long to play them, then I can wait another couple of years to play 3.

what does the game running on 1080p or not got anything to do with the topic which is GOW3 Ultimate edition giving trouble to retailers? also does this mean you will not purchase any PS3 game unless it runs at 1080p and 60fps? Either way, I am sure you can stop derailing the thread and if it is such a big issue, you can start your own thread about your 1080p, 60fps principles.

OT: anyone know if any stores will be getting anymore Ultimate Editions in or if there will be any other Limited or Collectors Editions? and why is there no UK release date for the collection?!

I guess the point is lost on you all. If I was a big resolution nut I would not have purchased a Wii. The point is that promises were made and not lived up to. So, the only way I can indicate my displeasure is to simply not buy the game for the price they're offering it. Free market system and all.

, you do know that was THEIR TARGET it was never etched in stone it would have been, and yes they could have indeed done that but other part's of the game would have been compromised.

that's why they have said the whole time up until recently that is was what as developer's were shooting for!

it was a goal they could have made , but a choice not to because they viewed the that the game would have been better off the way it is now.

I AM BOLO

100% lover "nothing else matter's" after that...

ps:

Proud psOne/2/3/p owner.  I survived Aplcalyps3 and all I got was this lousy Signature.

I didn't understand it to be a target, but more of a feature. Perhaps the language changed in the last year or so or I missed something.

WHAT ?! A 110 $ collecters edition sold out at most retailers ?! Or this specific one ? Sony should capitilize if true !

Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

Having a Hi-Def game come out at only 720p IS DISAPPOINTING and it IS a good argument for not wanting to buy it.

You wouldn't buy a $20 BluRay movie that was at 720p.

You wouldn't pay full price $12 for a movie that was only in Stereo sound.

We pay big bucks for 1080p 5.1 Dolby surround entertainement systems so we excpect our $600 gaming systems to be able to play our $60 game titles at full capability.

You should do some research. 1080P is STANDARD for Blu-rays however, lossless audio has not always been standard, look at older blu ray releases from warner bros. many didnt have lossless audio, sure its capable it can be done but they didnt have it. look at releases in theater of 3D, its a huge hit among consumers, but people still see, enjoy and love 2D movies. Your talking about standards set for things and applying them to this situation where 1080p and 60 fps is by no means at all standard.

So why do you even game this generation if every single game that exists is disappointing to you?

Why are all these people talking about resolution issues in a thread that is about GoW3 Ultimate Edition pre-orders? /shakes head

:D i got mine early from amazon on sale for $90 good thing too ;D

Why you think it's called limited? There could be less than 50k made so of course they will sell out quick.
