Why does every thread turn into playstation vs xbox?

its wii v 360 right now

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

"We are talking quality, not quantity, and the big projects are heading to 360 and ps3.

I mean calling us delusional is upsurd. I should attack you for this shit.

How are ARPGS not deserving of being in the RPG catagory, every single reviewer seems to contradict you, mass effect is a ARPG, yet it took most awards for RPG of E3.

Seriously your logic is really really bad. Whos the delusional one?"

I fail to see how the projects upcoming to the 360 are so big compared to the ones coming to the Wii.

Final fantasy its with Sony and Nintendo.

Kingdom hearts Nintendo / Sony

Dragon quest it's on DS/Wii.

Monster hunter 3 Wii.

Pokemon Wii/DS (biggest RPG seller in the world)

Just because a new IP is coming to your system it doesn't means that is going to have good success. You are just assuming that every upcoming RPG coming to the 360 is going to be good. We can argue about quantity of upcoming games. We CAN'T argue about quality, as those games aren't out yet, and i don't think you want to look like the sony fanboys that spent a year arguing about how great Lair was going to be.

Your talking spin offs, you talk of FF on wii, which will be spin offs, and these are all rumors

IF thats the case then rumor has it that SE i s making FF for 360, see i can do it too.

You get a dragon quest spin off

Possible (note the possible) FF spin off

KH nothing i know of has been announced. Heck we can say 360 is getting it at this point

Monster hunter is big, but not as big as you think.

Pokemon on the DS is the biggest seller, ive yet to see a good one on the wii.

Your arguement on we dont know quality goes right back to wii games. Seriously the wii is becoming known to be flooded with crap games. Your arguement is for both of us not just one. Im saying they are big, cause well they are. The big titles are going to ps3 and 360. I dont see how you think spin offs are going to be so huge while the big titles are going to fail.

Lol, i think you are worst than most fanboys. So the argument now is "i know that the 360 games are going to be big because i say so"

Sorry, i can't do anything about that. I guess you are a developer of all those games and know exactly what kind of budget/content/quality is going to have each of them. At the same time, you also know everything about all upcoming Wii games.

However once again you get your facts wrong: The are no rumours about upcoming FF games on Wii. They are CONFIRMED, two FF:CC games are coming to the Wii, one it's a main game and one for the WiiWare service.

We got a dragon quest spin-off, however the dragon quest main game it's also on a Nintendo platform. Dragon quest swords still has much more selling power than most of 360 RPGs you can name.

KH it's with Nintendo and Sony at the moment, confirmed games by the way. DS & PSP, once again no rumours here.

Monster hunter is much bigger than most upcoming RPGs for the 360, and this time is the main game, not a spin-off.

Pokemon it's on the DS at the moment, however past Pokemon games on consoles were good sellers and good games. Only Pokemon BR was rushed.

Actually i would say that the wii is getting flooded with some of the best games ever. Last year they got Zelda TP (game of the year on most magazines) and this year will be the same with Mario galaxy. Your last point is laughable at best, about how all upcoming 360/ps3 new games are going to be "big"

Do my one last favor: Name all those "big" RPG games coming in 08 for the 360 so i can laugh hard at you when they flop.

Final Fantasy already had a fanbase and several games in the US before the FF7 explosion. Mistwalker and Lost Odyssey, not so much. It's going to take more than just "lol marketing" to make the splash people want this game to make.

Calling a $100 million dollar marketing blitz (more than most movies today get) "lol marketing" just shows your ignorance, not to mention the fact that many of FFVII's fans had never played RPGs before, so your previous fanbase comments are just outright false in the success of FFVII.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

No, im saying that the "big budget titles" are going to the 360. While not confirming they are going to be "big" they are being hyped. Check Gametrailers or anythign like that, they had games like Last remnant in their top games to see at Toyko game show. No monster hunter.

Sorry, i can't do anything about that. I guess you are a developer of all those games and know exactly what kind of budget/content/quality is going to have each of them. At the same time, you also know everything about all upcoming Wii games.

Do you understand that if they are big budget and are quite hyped they are considered "big"? Thats all im saying, is the very hyped games and big budges are going to the ps3 and 360.

However once again you get your facts wrong: The are no rumours about upcoming FF games on Wii. They are CONFIRMED, two FF:CC games are coming to the Wii, one it's a main game and one for the WiiWare service.

Im talking about FF 13 spin offs, if you meant crystal cronicals you should of said that.

We got a dragon quest spin-off, however the dragon quest main game it's also on a Nintendo platform. Dragon quest swords still has much more selling power than most of 360 RPGs you can name.

We are talking wii here, not nintendo consoles at a whole. Really wheres your proof.

KH it's with Nintendo and Sony at the moment, confirmed games by the way. DS & PSP, once again no rumours here.

ON DS AND PSP NOT WII THERES A DIFFERENCE.

Monster hunter is much bigger than most upcoming RPGs for the 360, and this time is the main game, not a spin-off.

I never said its a spin off. That and it is bigger then MOST rpgs for 360

Pokemon it's on the DS at the moment, however past Pokemon games on consoles were good sellers and good games. Only Pokemon BR was rushed.

Possibly

As is the 360, dont think your alone. Also gears of war got plenty of game of the year awards as well. Same with this year for Halo 3 and Bioshock. I can predict, and wheres proof they wont be. These are big budget titles, being very hyped, how you can think otherwise is beyond me. I never said every game is going to be, only the big new IPs that you think will flop for some reason, but all the new ones on the wii will be SOMG AWSOME.

Do my one last favor: Name all those "big" RPG games coming in 08 for the 360 so i can laugh hard at you when they flop.

You name them on wii as well, and we will see how top quality they are. And none of these rumored crap, cause thats all the big titles your giving me

In all your baseing yours on rumor, at least i have key things to back me up

Bolded

ookaze - "the X360 has the worst jRPG lineup" - exactly how, pray tell, did you come to this conclusion?

I will gladly admit that I forgot MH3 and Tales Of, which are 2 decent jRPGs, but Tales Of has been doing badly as of late, with the 50 re-hashes. MH is much bigger on handhelds than consoles, so it's hard to say how well a 250k-seller on the PS2 will do on the Wii.

But I digress: the X360 has fantastic jRPGs. I don't see how it's any worse than the Wii's or PS3s.

As of right now, the PS3 "just" has the Final Fantasy series as exclusives, the Wii has Tales of and Monster Hunter, and the X360 has Mistwaker/Sakaguchi titles exclusive to their console. Each of those are great titles. I fail to see how the X360 lacks quality there.

Add in the fact that we now have Nippon Ichi, Atlus, and Tri-Ace working on X360 exclusives, that's certainly pretty big, no?

Then you have the joint X360/PS3 RPGs that are coming out like Last Remnant, and the rumored SO4 coming to both the X360/PS3, and any sort of ideal advantage the Wii has is utterly lost.

Ookaze, and what are you trying to refference? Just Japanese sales numbers? I don't understand trying to attack the quality of titles of a system based on sales. If that was the case, then Wii Sports is the best game in history....Which is pretty laughable to atleast myself. Why not use reviewer scores?

Mr stick hit it decently well here

Ookaze im sick of you bashing the games before you even play them. Then your saying the quality must be superior because of better sales? Of course its gonna have better sales the wii has ALOT more people in japan then 360.

We are talking quality, not quantity, and the big projects are heading to 360 and ps3.

Action RPGS should be in their own category because there are a great number of people who ONLY like ARPGs... and a great number of people who just like regular RPGS.

They have widely different fanbases.  So it seems silly to combine them into one category.  It's like when people combine games like Civilzation with "World Series of Poker" because they're both "simulation" games.

what are regular RPGS? Definition of RPG is role playing game. We call turn based rpgs usually JRPGS, those are not regular. There is no defintion of Regular RPG. Again there is catagorys in catagorys. IF it contains mostly traits of a RPG then its grouped in RPG group. It would be a huge mistake to put mass effect in anything other in RPG.

So if you really want to seperate ARPG and JRPG thats one thing, but they are still in the same catagory.

Yes they are, but they are different kinds of simulation games. Again you want for everyone to have a whole bunch of catagorys. Really no one sees it that way.

I mean menu based RPGs.   Aka Original RPGs/Traditional RPGS.  I don't use the terms WRPG and JRPG because they're stupid terms... not racist really but it's ignorant.

I mean, a Western Company could make a Japanese RPG by your termining... which is kinda like calling a British guy an African American.  Just how a japanese company could make a WRPG.

Hence why I perfer ARPG, SRPG and RPG.  RPG being for the traditonal menu based games.

Most people had heard of Final Fantasy before the add campaign though.  Persona I think is reaching that level of knownness... but then again Persona and the other Atlus Demon games may be to bizaree for the mainstream american market like the fantasy by numbers Final Fantasy games.

heh kaz all rpgs have some sort of menu, look at mass effect pull up a menu to select a power O.o
I could go with that, but most dont so i dont either
Still they are all RPGS because they mostly represent the RPG element. Now i could easily see them seperating it and i have no problem seperating them further, but i can see why they dont

Yeah i know what you mean.  I just know a lot of people who like ARPGS but won't go near a more traditional turnbased RPG, while I know plenty of Dragon Warrioresq RPG fans who can't stand ARPGs.

It seems silly for them to be all of the same sub genre.  I don't think your typical RPG snob is going to have any more chance of liking an WRPG, then they are a Zelda game or sports game.  They may, they may not... but the leveling up factor i don't see mattering for the people that almost only like RPGs.

Man i can't wait to play Mass Effect though, I want to see that dialogue system in action.  I've seen something similar in a couple RPGs but it was never implemented well.

Atlus on 360??? I'll have to keep an eye on the 360 now.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

Personally I like just saying RPGS pending on the situation. I don't like having to list all the different kinds of RPGS if I have to make a big list of games though but if I'm talking about one or two games then I'll mention the type of RPG it (they) are.
