Lost tears of Kain said: heh kaz all rpgs have some sort of menu, look at mass effect pull up a menu to select a power O.o I could go with that, but most dont so i dont either Still they are all RPGS because they mostly represent the RPG element. Now i could easily see them seperating it and i have no problem seperating them further, but i can see why they dont |
Yeah i know what you mean. I just know a lot of people who like ARPGS but won't go near a more traditional turnbased RPG, while I know plenty of Dragon Warrioresq RPG fans who can't stand ARPGs.
It seems silly for them to be all of the same sub genre. I don't think your typical RPG snob is going to have any more chance of liking an WRPG, then they are a Zelda game or sports game. They may, they may not... but the leveling up factor i don't see mattering for the people that almost only like RPGs.
Man i can't wait to play Mass Effect though, I want to see that dialogue system in action. I've seen something similar in a couple RPGs but it was never implemented well.
