didn't we know all of this stuff for months?
Sorry to be THAT guy, but everyone knew SMG and Metroid and Tri were coming out in a few months and knew most of the other games were also coming out. What we didn't know were exact release dates and some small details of those games. Right?

No. We didn't know this at all. There were never firm release windows for any of them, just conjecture based on what gamers thought made sense.
Shit
I'm still not sure Sin and Punishment is actually being localized
Considering that it only dealt with information for the first half of the year, yeah, we learned a lot.
You know the single greatest pain and pleasure of Nintendo is having no friggin idea what theyre up to. Well it looks they were pretty much done with Metroid and SMG2 by the end of last year, so whats next? NO IDEA
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
Great, great day.
Upsetting we didn't see any Zelda or Last Story though.
But still, plenty of great news!

What a shame... Sin and Punishment will just get completly ignored between Metroid and Mario. Then Nintendo will say, see it don't sell...
Nintendo just don't seem to learn from their mistakes. We are very unlikely to see a good game in August, september and october. How are they planning their stuff? Big hole for 4 months then 3 or 4 games in 3 months.
All of yo guys are complaning about their lack of money. Shit what am I going to do when I'll get back from Europe...
Gonna have to buy
-New Super Mario Bros
-No more Heroes Desperate Struggle
-Tasunoko vs Capcom
-Red Steel 2
-Monster Hunter 3
-Mario Galaxy 2
-SaP2
-Metroid other M
and I'm, not talking about all those games waiting for me to get started in my own library, sight...

We knew they were coming this year. We didn't know they were all coming next quarter.
Also, we know almost nothing about SMG2 and MOM beyond what was shown at last year's E3. Journalists will be playing those games soon and giving us some concrete details in the next 24 hours (embargoed until midnight, I understand).

"The worst part about these reviews is they are [subjective]--and their scores often depend on how drunk you got the media at a Street Fighter event." — Mona Hamilton, Capcom Senior VP of Marketing
