Found a ten dollar game the other day, saw it a couple of times, but it seemed intresting.  A space shooter being published by Square, an odd thing thing indeed, basically anything with Squares name on it outside of the handhelds have really let me down as of late, but it was like hey its 10 dollars its niche, I'll take the plunge.

What I ended up with is a pretty sweet space shooter, tight controls, lots of action going on, looks rather nice, and while a little repetitive its a lot of fun.  I just love decking out my ship with pretty big guns, getting behind some fools, and blasting the hell out of them.  I ended up getting owned pretty hard when I decided to take on the main ships on my first run, I'll pop it in later and check out the best way to fight those guys but I had fun even when getting owned pretty hard.

I've been on the fence since forever to get this game. It's 8.99 at newegg.com.

1 question though, is the game similar to starfox>?

I read the gamespot review, it said it had horrible frame rate problems, which is why I never got it

I actually picked this up a few days ago too since someone recommended it to me, though I haven't gotten a chance to play it yet and I doubt I will until I finish my current play through of Mass Effect and then Bioshock 2.

Not really, you're in an open battle field, lots of enemies, and you've got multiple weapons.  It's pretty different all around.

Yeah, this was a game I considered, but I have never got round to, it just got many iffy reviews

I picked this game up a little while back for a cheap price. A buddy of mine who really likes flying games asked to borrow the game. I still have never gotten the game back even thou he has nearly every achievement.

its underated for sure, but a pretty good game

I remember reading a very positive review from my most trusted gaming magazine about this game back in 2007 and at the same time I learned that Game Arts' Silpheed/Sylpheed franchise (which I had never heard of before) has a long and interesting history.

Some western media said it's like a Japanese Wing Commander or Starlancer.
