Did he say "Impress me" ?
Shouldn't developers say something like: "we are going to impress you!" ?
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
- George Orwell, ‘1984’
They make a fair point I think. Although I bet plenty of L4D players would actually like that mini-game!
But they're right. So far only Nintendo has really used controls well. Everything shown so far for Natal looks like a weak copy and gives me little confidence that MS and their partners understand how to develop something really cool using the tech, and to be fair what's been shown for the Arc falls into the same camp for the most part, although a couple of elements looked not bad.
This isn't to say MS or Sony won't deliver, just that the evidence isn't great so far. Certainly looking at Jonathan Ross leaping around doesn't instill me with confidence.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

That's exactly the way i do NOT want motion controls to be.
Motion controls should be about you doing a motion and the game/avatar should do your motion.
Motion controls should not be about a game waiting for a predefined motion and then starting an animation, that would be no other then waggle controls on higher level.
Did you notice Chet's use of the plural there?
"We have these technologies now"
If he was only talking about Natal he would have said "We have this technology now"
Just sayin'.

Are you really going to deny that the motion controls in Heavy Rain DON'T add to the sense of immersion?
It's almost like disparaging advancement in graphics, having better music, story, etc, as they don't add to gameplay directly, even though they're crucial in immersing the player into the game world.

This.
So they hate "shitty motion controlled party games". How do they feel about "Awesome motion controlled party games"?
