It would do good in sales but cost Sony a shitload of money.

They are fine for now, they have been outselling the Xbox 360 as of late and have no reason to cute the price.

yeah lose money if they cut the price on current model ps3's, I mean what if they make a stripped down less featured (less cost) ps3 on the market

wouldn't work a 60GB HDD is probably more expensive than a bigger one and other than removing the HDD I don't see anything they could strip out and due to a lot of ps3 games requiring an install no hdd is not an option.
