Forums - Sales - And Final Fantasy XIII Hit the bargain bin in japan

Something quite normal but the stock is bigger than expected.

Top marathon simulator Final Fantasy XIII is now being sold at bargain prices online and in Akiba stores thanks to plummeting sales and mountains of excess inventory, with the price having dropped from an admittedly outrageous ¥9,240 to ¥3,980 in the few months since its much heralded release.

If I would live in Japan, I would just wait a few weeks since the price falls down quite quickly there.

Take a look at my photos on flickr

Lol, marathon simulator XD

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

Yeah, we heard resale value was very low from shortly after release.

In Japan though, it's pretty much the retailers that take the burn, isn't it? Still, they may not order so much stock for the next Final Fantasy.

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Haha, you can see Monster Hunter Tri on the table behind.

Poor Japanese retailers....

even playasia dropped the price.. http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-bp-77-2-49-en-15-final%20fantasy%20xiii-70-3m3l.html I wonder how much a seconded handed costs..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Yeah, to be expected, games in Japan are extra frontloaded, particularly Final Fantasy.

I think I'll get my (probably used) copy when it's in around 2000 Yen territory.

Need something off Play-Asia? http://www.play-asia.com/

Wish the US worked the same way.
