If you're anything like me, and plan on dumping tons of hours into Blizzard's upcoming game, you'll be listening to the Terran / Zerg / Protoss music a lot over the next few years. I personally loved Starcraft 1's music, so for a long time I've been hoping SC2 would fare as well. I'm sure many of you already heard some of it from gameplay vids, but I still say this deserves its own thread! Listen to all of it for yourself:

Although it's hard to judge the music without listening to it in context, and I haven't listened to them extensively yet, I think it's alright so far. I like the Zerg music better here, the Protoss is about as good (only one track), though most of the Terran music (my favorite of SC1) definitely feels a bit weaker. Maybe some of it will take time to grow on me, but who knows.

Honestly? It's a nice new spin to the original, but they should have tried for something new. The original still feels a lot better, I'm talking Terrans here:

Also, after all these years I can still kind of hum the original terran music by heart.

I havent played SC in like 4-5 years and I can still hum it. I also HATE playing as the Terran and I can't even think of the Protoss music right now. When I think SC music I think Terran theme.

After listening to the main themes (theme 1 from each) I'm thinking zerg stays the most with you.

This bothered me while I was playing terran in the beta. It seems Blizzzard split the Terran Theme 1 and spread some fragments here and there across the entire SC2 soundtrack. So when I heard something resembling Terran theme 1 I got excited, and then dissapointed when I heard that it was another theme.

Seriously, not making a full glorious remake of this is a crime

That's exactly how I felt. None of the themes posted were as memorable as the original Terran. The music was the best part about playing Terrans for me. It's also funny cause I have units' voice associtated with different segments of the song.

The new unit voices are funny though (sometimes). The drunken Battlecruiser, the references to movies and even duke nukem are lolworthy. Even the love-machine Marauder and the tough-guy Reaper are good for some giggle.

I've only gone through the Terran tracks, and for the most part I REALLY enjoy them (most parts). Strangely though, I don't know how they are going to fit into the game....

Is this the music that will be playing like during actual gameplay?

Seems kind of weird... hahaha it's just like jazz fusion with little classic starcraft references thrown in here and there
