My Birthday is coming up and I need to make a decision. I usually get $200 on my birthday from my parents and $140 from other family, I usually use it on some Wii games or other things I want. I currently only own a Wii and DS. But this year my parents offered to get me a PS3 slim instead of the usual $200 and they would cover the extra $100 + tax/warranty.

What I need to decide is if I should get the PS3 or just some Wii games? I'm Interested in the Wii games coming out like Fragile, Red Steel 2 and Monster Hunter Tri but I also really want to play Valkyria Chronicles which would probably be the first game I get on the PS3.

So what do you guys think I should do? Have my parents get me the PS3 and maybe pick up Valkyria Chronicles and acouple Wii games?

Or use all my money and beef up my wii collection even more.

I appreciate any inputs.

On a side note I only get money twice a year, once on my birthday and again on Christmas. Keep that in consideration.

Hard decision :| Well heaving more consoles is always a plus, just be sure that you can support all of them I would probably go with a PS3 if you already have a Wii, and save up some money for the rest of the games

Get the PS3, VC, and Wii games. Looks like a better deal

Get a ps3. You can always download new demos even if you don't have $ for games.

get a ps3 and play some cool games. This is a Wii only owner telling you this, please trust me. If given the opportunity to have a ps3 i would without doubt take it.

Thanks for all your suggestions, the only doubt in my mind is really the fact that If I go with a PS3 w/ VC and Wii games I wont be able to get another PS3 game until Christmas.

Determine your gaming budget. Can you afford to get games on more than one platform. If yes then get your self a PS3.

Well I have no income at the moment, I usually just pick up a couple Wii games every birthday and Christmas. Which is why I don't know about the PS3. It might turn into 1 Wii game and 1 PS3 game every birthday and Christmas until I get a job (Which will probably be next year)

So I wont be able to get another PS3 game until Christmas after Valkyria Chronicles.

What about the 140$ from the other family you mentioned ?

VC is only 20$...you have 120$ more for Wii games + PS3 games until Christmas

The leftover $120 will either go to Monster Hunter Tri + Red Steel 2 or one or the other + Fragile.

So If I got the PS3 I will have Valkyria Chronicles and 2 of the 3 wii games I listed until Christmas.
