Forums - Gaming Discussion - Peter Molyneux: I'm a talentless b*stard

i didn't use half of the game mechanics you built not because i wasn't aware of them but because the game was soo easy i didn't have to. i took around 2 hits the entire second half of the game. make a game that isn't so dumbed down a two year old can play it. and while you're at it make a game that's fun, what i welcome change that would be.

He's still producing quality titles whether he's talentless or not (Which he isn't). I agree that Expressions were pretty weak. You just sit there and spam the same expression untill the whole town hates, loves, finds you funny or is shit scared of you.

It should take some more effort to make people like you. Not flex your biceps 20 times and your suddenly the sexiest person in the whole of Albion.

That was the problem with Fable II, everything was so streamlined you could experience everything and be over with the game 100% in less then 20 hours (Alot less if it wasn't for the Gargoyles and Silver Key collectables etc). Money was to easily earned in Fable II also, you'd earn while you weren't even playing the game!

He needs to drag things out abit. Make stuff require more effort and time, thats how most Rpg's get their length.

This is all my opinion anyway. I'd prefer a game which takes longer than 10 hours (Especially when it's something of an Rpg)

Oh and make the game harder! Or make two modes. Pussy mode and Hardcore mode. Everyones Happy!

I love how this thread is filled with molyneux troller...lol...whatever...seems like ALOT of people thought Fable II was very very good, tot the tune of 3.44 million on the "shooter box"!

Self-deprecation; what an endearing device, a little too obvious though.

I think he has fallen into the trap of holding on too dearly to the things he creates, instead of letting it go and moving on to the next creation.

Now all of his doubts and insecurities will be featured in Fable3.

Fuck... I'm dead!

Brutal. I wonder whether that adds pressure on him... you know, being worried about over-complicating this one too...

finally the truth comes otu

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

Wii Friend Code: 4094-4604-1880-6889

some designers are like that. Brilliant ideas, but poor execution. I found in Fable 1 I can own pretty much towns. But I had to kill everyone to do it :\

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Finally he tells the truth.

The guy does have brass balls the size of coconuts though. Raise your hand if you would be willing to go on record about yourself this way, in regards to something you've poured your heart and soul into for 7 or 8 years. Not me, I can tell you that.

Yes. I do. I made a thread about it: http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=91490

I thought Fable 2 was pretty dumbed down. Not complicated in the least bit.
