It cheats?

In my opinion, a console that changes the actual features to add more to the newest revisions, doesn't really count as the same console anymore...that's a new generation of that console, just like the PSP and PSP Go should not be lopped into the same category...But hey, that's only my personal opinion, Oh, and "learn something"

In my opinion, a console that breaks so much and requires millions of users to buy second ones (literally throwing out the old one, as opposed to perhaps giving the old DS model to a friend or sibling) shoudn't be counted.
To a point I do see where you are coming from, but there is no way of defining where we should stop..... GameBoy and GameBoy Color is one that I think is different enough to warrant being split as consoles... DS + DSlite versus DSi + DSiXL (IMO the lite, and XL are just updates, there are no changed features that affect games) is a little closer, the main difference being the downloadable games for DSi.... I think it does at least deserve a note.
Like I said though, where do we stop? each person will have a different opinion on the matter, some may thing GB+GBC should be a single console, some may go as far as saying the XB360 Arcade and the XB360 models with a HDD should be counted differntly.... or what about the old PS3 models able to play PS2 games.... that's a major gameplay feature that has been removed, should it be counted differently? (if it wasn't for the downloadable games for instance, the major gameplay difference between DS and DSi would be removing GBA support.... the same as PS3 with removed PS2 support)
