That's not completely true. The Gameboy only outsold the PS1 by like 16 million. And the Gameboy was released about 5 years
before PS1. Also the Wii is trending above the DS. How are you going to explain that?

People buy wiis than sell them only to buy them again?



This is actually true...hanhelds sell more than home consoles...anyway, PlayStation consoles were successful in sales because there was..well..there is high piracy on those systems. PSP has poor third-party support and it's still selling pretty good, even if the DS is beating it with really amazing sales, games and great third-party support.

I won't be surprised if DS outsells the PS2...since the DS is a hand held. Not much people should get excited if this happens.

But don't worry. I could bet Wii will outsell the PS2 soon, very soon.
If systems sold on piracy. Than PCs will take over all platforms by 2012

Its not.....hell even I rebought my ps2 after my first had the DRE.


lol, well bad luck...I remember when I had my PS2 at launch, I had no problems...and I had several PS2 but this is because my PS2 were stolen, well, I live in Mexico so no surprise my PS2s were stolen :P but not problems at all. I might have been lucky...Maybe?

But I don't think that the disc read error was such a great problem if you compare it with the RRoD, right?

Well, I think I'm wrong.

Compared to major malfunctions in gaming(in recent memory) it would come as second right behind the RRod........sony's reluctancy to give a warrenty(to the point where they were being charged in court) made it all the worse.

I have never meet an adult other than females that own and play a DS. Are there any of you DS owners out there that are over the age of 21?

If there is no DS 2 in 2010 (which I hope there isn't) its likely it will surpass the PS2, despite starting to drop in sales due to market saturation.

PS2 is still selling though, and to date sony has shipped over 142M, nintendo still need to ship out 15-20M DS' before they can match the PS2 in LTD sales.

Might as well include every Playstation ever released, and say it has sold well over 300M.. GBA alone sold I believe 72M, and is the 2nd highest selling handheld ever released (I THINK, idk if the numbers are correct).

no. GBA is counted seperatly. Gameboy color was a gameboy with color. Does that mean we seperate PS2 and the PS2 slim?

Gameboy color was not a just gameboy with color, it was a new platform, hence the reason it had games specifically made for it..

Yep, lost my Phat so I'm currently gaming on my sister's(who is also over 21 so I guess that at least keeps in line with your observation) Lite.

Not really a shocker. GBA sold like crazy and usually handhelds have better chances at outselling consoles.

What will be the real shocker is when the Wii outsells the PS2, that is if the Wii stays on the market for a few more years without a successor.
