Pokémon has never been a generation launch title.

Fifth Gen will be DS with DSi enchanced features.

Pokémon has never had 3 main games released in 1 generation.

Fifth Gen will be with 3DS or DSi with 3DS enhanced features.

Look at last gen.  R/S/FR/LG/E.

Like Twilight Princess yes.

Gamecube version with classic controls. Wii verison with motion controls.

???

1st Gen -- R/B/Y -- GB

2nd Gen (could be played by 1st gen handheld) -- G/S/C -- GBC

3rd Gen -- R/S/E -- GBA

Then you had remakes for R/B

4th Gen -- D/P/P -- NDS

Remakes for G/S

5th Gen -- x/x/x  -- 3DS

IT would be a huge system seller but the next nintendo handheld will sell well regardless of it's launch titles.

if anything, i see a Pokemon launch title actually losing sells because it is a launch title and not immediately available to everyone.

I wish people would read the original post before replying. Paperdiego, I addressed that very concern in my post. My theory is that they'll be DS/3DS crossover-type games. Just like Gold/Silver were GBC games compatible with the original GB, I believe the 5th gen will be 3DS games compatible with the original DS.

As for SmokedHostage, how is your prediction any more plausible? You're predicting the first time EVER that a Pokemon generation DOESN'T actually advance to new hardware. Don't feed me this DSi bullshit, either. DSi functions in a Pokemon game would 100% be gimmicky and not apply to the game as a whole. The next generation of Pokemon will have an actual upgrade that changes THE ENTIRE GAME - EVERY MOMENT of gameplay. Not retarded DSi gimmicks.


*Note: I'm not saying that the DSi is a gimmick. Not in the least. I'm merely saying that DSi features IN A MAINLINE POKEMON GAME would be gimmicky.
