I wish people would read the original post before replying. Paperdiego, I addressed that very concern in my post. My theory is that they'll be DS/3DS crossover-type games. Just like Gold/Silver were GBC games compatible with the original GB, I believe the 5th gen will be 3DS games compatible with the original DS.
As for SmokedHostage, how is your prediction any more plausible? You're predicting the first time EVER that a Pokemon generation DOESN'T actually advance to new hardware. Don't feed me this DSi bullshit, either. DSi functions in a Pokemon game would 100% be gimmicky and not apply to the game as a whole. The next generation of Pokemon will have an actual upgrade that changes THE ENTIRE GAME - EVERY MOMENT of gameplay. Not retarded DSi gimmicks.
*Note: I'm not saying that the DSi is a gimmick. Not in the least. I'm merely saying that DSi features IN A MAINLINE POKEMON GAME would be gimmicky.
