so it's like Uncharted 2 on the install department, but even better on the cut-scenes since it never uses "movies" it's all real time.

Who cares? It takes like 7-15mins to install a game. It's no problem imo.

Huh? Why would a lack of install be surprising? The game is linear with a fixed camera is it not? Theres absolutely no possibility of texture pop in this situation. Conversely, a game which is fast moving like GTA IV in an open world requires an install.

Tell that to capcom and namco.

Huh? What do you mean? If you're talking about fighting games then they have to load a completely new level with different textures all at once so caching doesn't help.

What's DMC4's excuse, then?

I never played that game so I cannot say. Perhaps they wanted to eliminate loading times as from what I gather they are significantly faster.

i have to manage my 60gig hd well these days so this is a bonus.

easily the best grafix ever, i think last guardian will eclipse it though

Or you could just spend 60$ to get 320 GB 7200 rpm HD and have no more problems for years and as a bonus have faster install/loading times.

Blu ray data rates are only slower than DVD initially. Blu Ray reads at a constant 9MB p/s while (a 360's) dual layer dvd reads initially at around 12MB and slows down to around 6MB p/s once it gets going. So in theory with proper blu-ray mapping, no install should be necessary.
