And what, Link's Awakening didn't happen? What's up with people forgetting it lately?!
EDIT: Ah, it's on the magazine's timeline... it's just not on Mr Kahn's post... shame on you mister!

Some quick and dirty tidbits that show how wrong the gametrailer's trashline is:
- Oracle games on separate timelines. This doesn't make sense.
- Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are not in the same timeline
- LoZ/AoL before LttP
- LA is a sequel to LttP, not Majora's Mask
- Outdated, and missing Four Swords
The timeline debates are enough of a mess as it is. When you start contradicting canon, you might as well not even bother putting together a timeline because then the 'rules' don't matter anymore.

Personally I don't even see why zelda even needs a timeline IMHO. It is sorta like the game overthinker said, the best stories don't go on forever, they are just retold.
For example, what do luke skywalker, Gilgamesh and gandalf all have in common?
Also, the real zelda games aren't any more correct in the continuity than the CDi games are. That is how I feel about continuity. It would be cool to see a zelda game take place in the "real" hyrule
where some high school kid fights monsters from hylian mythology.
I can't say I agree about this. I've seen some timelines I agree with, don't remember exactly where, but generally it goes something like
Minish Cap -> OoT -> TP -> WW -> ALttP -> Zelda 1 -> AoL

I thought Link's Awakening made more sense after Adventure of Link, myself, unless there's something that distinctly says otherwise.
Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

The manual always stated that it happens directly after LttP. There are also several clues within the game itself, like Zelda and Nightmare.

God, not another Zelda timeline debate... -_-'
I'm with Rol on this one.
Nintendo Network ID: Cheebee 3DS Code: 2320 - 6113 - 9046
My timeline is the best:
LoZ --> AoL
LttP --> LA
OoT --> MM --> TP
WW
Bwhahahaha!
the timeline only works if you go through the orde rin which they were developed.
I believe there are 3 strings, not 2
1st one
Ocarina of time
Lttp
LA
Zelda
AoL
Ocarina of time messes everything up, not only does it create a split timeline but it pretty much ignores all the games before it
2nd One
OoT
WW
PH
ST
this one is set in stone
2nd one
OoT
MM
TP
These strings are all pretty much confimred. where the rest fit in are interesting.
MC is said to be the first one, which is kinda right becasue apparently 'thats where link gets his hat' although this doesnt work either because the brother of the original zelda wheres a hat like that. most likely these dont fit anywhere.
OoS and OoA also seem like games to me that were made with zelda lore but not with any reference to a time line. They fit in after AoL but this could just be by accident.
In conclusion, Aonuma likes to fit his games together most of the time, the others dont really care
FA and FSA seem to be sequels to MC, yet they cannot be before OoT since i believe Ganon cant exist before then, most likely they just dont care about time line
