1) Halo 3 (360, Microsoft) - 4.82 million
2) Wii Play with Wii Remote (Wii, Nintendo) - 4.12 million
3) Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (360, Activision) - 3.04 million
4) Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (PS2, Activision) - 2.72 million
5) Super Mario Galaxy (Wii, Nintendo) - 2.52 million
6) Pokémon Diamond (DS, Nintendo) - 2.48 million

like I said 8 months sales equal 2.48million

 

this thread isnt about worldwide but NPD equals USA, last month the best DS game was #10 the month before #14. Pokemon is going to do good but its not 100 percent certain that it will be the best seller in the month like some people here think it will be

God of war 3 will outsell Pokemon heart gold+silver together on MARCH.

Pokemon already launched months ago in japan, where most sells, no way it can outsell god of war 3 with only NA and others and the 30k it is doing on japan now.

Oh... but that's just Pokemon Diamond (which did 1m 1st week).  I think I was confused by your later statement, which was including Pearl.

All totaled, they're likely past 6m US now, which is more than pretty much every HD game but Halo 3/Reach will manage this gen.  

Anyway, for a comparsion to previous NPDs for the big March series...

... worth noting that Pokemon HG/SS has 2 weeks of sales while all the previous Pokemons since 2005 had just one.

True.  I think we all know Halo 3 is going to top March NPDs.

I'd go for Silver cause Lugia looks cooler and for those that preorder for the bonus figures might possibly preordered more of the Silver cause the Lugia figure looks more appealing IMO.  Does anybody know the amount of preorders made for these games individually?

Yes based on those numbers the fact that the most recent GOW sold more than the most recent pokemon game.
Also
GOW1 to GOW2 300% increase, series is increasing with popularity
diamond to platinum 20% decrease, series is decreasing with popularity

I'ld say GOW3 will outsell gold or silver [whatever sells the best] by about 250k

Er, Platinum's an expanded rerelease of Diamond/Pearl, not a sequel.  It's like comparing Gears 360 to Gears PC and saying "decrease!".

I don't think HG/SS will do quite as well as D/P overall, as they're remakes and not new installments, but they'll still be solid 5m+ combined lifetime seller in the US.  For the first NPD, I think they'll match or exceed D/P though thanks to an extra week of coverage.  GOW3 might beat one version, but even that's iffy.  No PS3 exclusive ever cleared a million 1st NPD.  Not Killzone 2, not Uncharted 2, not GT5P, not MGS4.  None.
