Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Demographics of Pokemon

Mediumcore. I usually put around 500+ hours into my main version with around 100+ on my others. Ev training, breeding, ect I all do. However, I don't really give a damn about tourney play... And I do it mostly for my own pleasure and to kick my friends ass.

Back in the day when I played pokémon, I would qualify as a mix between mediumcore and hardcore. I really had some bastard teams then.

But not anymore, since I've got too much games to play and pokémon needs loads of time.

Even though I've never successfully IV bred any Pokemon, I consider myself a Middlecore.

I was going to make a thread like this a few minutes ago.

Thanks for saving me some work, Nazna.

Pixel Art can be fun.

I'm a mix of mostly hardcore with some nostalgic. I fit the hardcore description mostly, except I do play the old games sometimes because they are fun, none the less.(well red and blue). Maybe Gold and Silver to a lesser extent just because how prevalent stalling was...

Btw, did you pull that 10 million of 16 million fans being kids out of your ass?

I'm a softcore. I'm not zealous with the amazing intricacies of Pokemon, and I don't act snobby towards those oh-so-stupid people who don't understand them.

Indeed!

@Monty chill dude. There's nothing wrong with the softcore category. Does it look like it's trying to be degrading. Go back on your meds.

Medium core, I know some of the tricks but never really bother. Too much work and time in my opinion. I do always try to "catch em all" though.

I'm a mediumcore + MMO(even though I hope they never make it for the sake of my social life)

Your demographics don't quite cover all bases, I'm afraid. Me, for example, would probably fall under the label of Stoic, who, though he was once a stalwart fan, never let his passion go unbridled and eventually parted ways with the series once he felt it no longer had anything to offer him. I still think Pokemon is a great concept, but it's not for me. I'm not a Nostaligist either - I am well aware of the issues that pervaded the early games, though the G/S generation is probably one of the single greatest improvements to an established franchise that I've ever experienced.
