After reading the Mediumcore entry...
Yeah, I guess I qualify as Hardcore.

Softcore, Id play pokemon red in my cell phone or something like that or if I get to play on my cousins DS the newer ones.
I was in the kids one like 9 years ago, got it because of the anime, then I grew and I realized how crap the anime was but the games are ok though I dont consider them great.
Edit:Nothing actually, I dont play Pokemon anymore but I would play it if it was for free and in a handheld.(so roms dont count, wouldnt play it in my pc)

I think this makes you a Softcore |
Nope. I't meduimcore. Definally
I want to say The Hardcore and The Nostalgist. I played Red/Blue and Gold/Silver...but fell out of Pokemon until Diamond/Pearl. Diamond/Pearl really reinvigorated my love for the series becasue of all the intricate changes to stradegy and etc. But I still have love for the older pokemon titles. It's why I want Heart Gold and Soul Silver so bad becasue it blends my nostalgic side with my hardcore side.

these categories are not open enough... i dont fit into any one category but im a combo of the hardcore, nostalgic( only for the better pokemon)
I'm Hardcore + MMO + slight Nostalgist, as I love Kanto as a world more than any other.
Haha, truth is pretty darn funny. It's amusing to think of any recent thread about Pokemon... you can find all of those types in every single one. Well done.
But yeah, I was a "Soft Core" for the first three generations. Played the game, picked the Pokemon I liked the best, beat the Elite Four, used GameShark to get infinite Rare Candies, and that was that. I knew about the "Hardcore" approach to Pokemon, but I just never bothered with it.
But with Diamond/Pearl I finally started to delve into the intricacies of the Pokemon battle system. It definitely helped that I had a roommate who was already knew the insides and outs (he used a team that revolved around Spikes/Stealth Rock/Roar... I hate Skarmory...). So I learned from him, raised my team (According to the Gospel that is Smogon) with all of the EV and IV stuff... and then rocked his socks.
Now, my team is "illegal" due to my Garchomp (moved him from OU to Legendaries... lame!) but it was a really neat experience to know that there's a game within the game. Cool stuff. ^_^
Somewhere between hardcore and mediumcore, closer to a hardcore.
