The one game that best represents my tastes is probably Xenogears.
The total war series are probably my favourite ,and a bit of shooters to spice htings up...basically htings with killing in.
"They will know heghan belongs to the helghast"
"England expects that everyman will do his duty"
"we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender"
Tough one.
Flower is a given though.
Other than that, I'd probably say Mirror's Edge (I love the movement, inFamous and Assassin's Creed add to my love for this) and then there are games like Uncharted 2, God of War 2 and others, that are intense, high quality singleplayer experiences. Finally, I'll add Heavy Rain, just because I know it will be on there

Don't play Online, there are only hardcore members left there.
If you're getting your ass kicked offline... these are the only help I can give:
1) Make sure you put on autotax
2) Play as the Brutii or Scipii and conquer Greece first. The East has historically been the trading centre of the Mediteranian (Byzantine empire survived for a millenium), and same applies in this game.
3) Build ports first, then trading centres, etc. Dedicate only one city to the production of troops, or if you have a lot of cash floating around, assign one city infantry, the other calvary. (Later on the game though, you should simply have one military base in a large area though).
4) Military is simply about who gets to flank and who doesn't. Your strategy is simple. Have your infantry engage the enemy infantry. Have your calvary engage the enemy calvary on the wings. Win the the calvary fight. Hammer and anvil. Clean up the survivors.

No, I quoted you because my post was reffering to yours and was relavent to it.
You believing the game Monopoly best represnting your taste has nothing to do with my belief that Bad Company 2 and the Total War series do.
