Mario does it well. I love platformers.

Btw, I downloaded Rome: Total War complete pack on steam (3 bucks)! And I'm getting my ass kicked....

Don't play Online, there are only hardcore members left there.

If you're getting your ass kicked offline... these are the only help I can give:

1) Make sure you put on autotax

2) Play as the Brutii or Scipii and conquer Greece first. The East has historically been the trading centre of the Mediteranian (Byzantine empire survived for a millenium), and same applies in this game.

3) Build ports first, then trading centres, etc. Dedicate only one city to the production of troops, or if you have a lot of cash floating around, assign one city infantry, the other calvary. (Later on the game though, you should simply have one military base in a large area though).

4) Military is simply about who gets to flank and who doesn't. Your strategy is simple. Have your infantry engage the enemy infantry. Have your calvary engage the enemy calvary on the wings. Win the the calvary fight. Hammer and anvil. Clean up the survivors.
