Well Lavos is a dick. After all, he did destroy the world in 1999 A.D.

All have aged marvelously. I can barely play Final Fantasy VII, or almost any PS1-era game (sans FFT which was incredible), but these SNES classics have aged fantastic.
Especially Chrono Trigger and SMRPG. SMRPG is one of those titles that really doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Its the reason we have a great hybrid RPG genre at all. Kingdom Hearts owes its life to SMRPG. Platforming + RPG = incredible.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
Chrono Trigger is my favourite JRPG of all time, the game story , characters and music are just magical and incredibly engaging.

The "side quests" are part of the (awesome) story, though. Going through them is more like finishing the story, the game simply allows you to beat the boss earlier than usual. There's really no need to level grind, the game is not all that difficult - you can play through the entire game quite comfortably without the need to grind levels at all.
Why else do you think it didn't age well? Between the music, graphics, simple story, etc, that seems hard to argue for. Disliking the game does not mean it didn't age well...
@ OP, of course the game is still fun. It's still the best JRPG ever.
My favorite game ever.
And Rol, this CT badmouthing of yours is getting old.
Quem disse que a boca é tua?
Qual é, Dadinho...?
Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!
Not trying to be rude and totally agreeing with the original poster when I say this but, way to state the obvious.
Heh, that aside, yeah, not much more I can say that other people haven't. Pretty much Chrono Trigger is well known for being one of the all-time classics in both gameplay and storyline. One of the most truly balanced and fun RPGs ever made. I am a little biased however and credit Yuji Horii and much of the imput from the 'Dragon Quest' team for that balance and creative design. As if you play more than a few Dragon Quest games, you'll start to see many similarities in gameplay and game design between Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest games (and not just the Character Design).
