Forums - Nintendo - RESIDENT EVIL ARCHIVES opinion.

Currently I am playing Resident Evil Archives, the GameCube Remake that appeared some years ago.

I love the game, the graphics and effects are so improved from the original title on the PSX. And the mansion has changed, so no everything you already knew from the original title is now placed where you think it should be. Apart from that, there are new locations, new puzzles, new weapons...

But the main factor I love the game is because it really feels like a Resident Evil game: hoy the camera changes, tension around every corner, fear, atmosphere, you have limited space to carry objects.......a REAL RESIDENT EVIL.

I wish Capcom would return to the old school Biohazard with Resident Evil 6. They may try something new to revitalize the franchise, but please bring back the terryfing atmosphere created in the mansion and Raccon City.

Does anyone here think the same?

I totally agree. Although my favorite in the series is RE4, the tension and atmosphere is not the same as in RE2.

I agree. I bought the REmake last year and played it through. Capcom should just fix the tank controls and they'll have a great Resident Evil experience on their hands.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

remake is how resident evil should be.

Sure, they're great games but they aren't improved in any way from the GameCube versions. So you're better off buying the GameCube ones because they're cheaper and Capcom won't make dirty money.

The least they could do is touch up the graphics a bit (add widescreen 480p for example) and add something new.

I think he is referring to the original PS1 games. Yes they are just ports from GC to Wii... but from PS1 to GC (or Wii) they are remakes.

I have the GCN version and I agree, great game

Just wondering, how is the Resident Evil 0 on the Wii? Does it use motion controls?

No, it's a straight port of the Gamecube game and doesn't even have widescreen support.

Oh that sucks, good thing I didn't pick it up yesterday.  I saw both Resident Evil 1 and 0 for the Gamecube priced at $10. Was going to buy them but then I saw the Archives on the Wii.  Looks like I'm making a trip back to Disc Replay.
