Forums - General Discussion - The Nerf Gun Thread

I'm in college, and I've never owned a Nerf gun in my life until about a month ago. My two roommates and I got a little Nerf-crazy...

We have a lounge in our dorms that we use for our fights. We flip over tables and chairs to build forts, then split up into teams of two and then have alternate rounds of "frag limit" and "last man standing." It really is unbelievably fun. Every time we do it, more random people see us and ask to get in on it; so far, we've had as large as 5 vs. 5 (which is a lot for a nerf fight with size of this particular lounge).

Guns pictured:

1x Vulcan EBF-25 (the one with the ammo belts)

1x Longshot CS-6 (the long yellow one with the bipod)

1x Raider "Rapid Fire" CS-35 (the blue one with the 35-dart drum magazine - my personal weapon of choice, that thing is a BEAST)

2x Firefly REV-8 (center; light in barrel flashes when you shoot it, very cool for low-light fights)

3x Maverick REV-6

I used to be condescending to people my age who still played with dart guns... but now I have seen the light! I'm truly a nerd, and I am not ashamed.

So...

What's your Nerf experience? Post pictures of your arsenal!!

but yeh nerf rocks, how could you ever be a hater?

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

Wii Friend Code: 4094-4604-1880-6889

ohh, a longshot....

Go buy a M4 spring - like this one - http://www.cactustactical.com/osc/car15-buffer-and-spring-p-1236.html (note, you could find a cheaper spring that works just as well, but I've seen people who use these)

and take the thing apart, and insert this spring in place of the old spring. You'll get enough power to leave welts

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit

Holy... I think we'd have to introduce some type of safety goggles to our game, because I would probably blind everyone on the opposing team, haha. I'll definitely be taking the air restrictor out of my Raider; that should give it another good 10' of range. Gotta love Nerf modding.

I haven't played with nerf until EA sent me the Wii game for free. The game is crap but the nerf gun is my favorite toy ever.

Wow. This actually looks like fun. How much does it cost for this equipment?

Vulcan - $40. Its rate of fire is second to none, but for the money, the gun itself is a bit excessive.

Longshot - $30-$35, depending on where you find it.

Raider - $30-$35. With the drum magazine and semi-automatic firing, it's by far the best value for what you get. I highly HIGHLY recommend it.

Firefly - $25. A good all-around gun.

Maverick - $10. Inexpensive but good.

As you can see, it's definitely an investment. But if you play regularly, like we do, it's totally worth it. We've also since bought several dart refill packs as well.

That's actually pretty affordable, when you compare them to paintball and airsoft guns. Can you reuse ammo?
