Forums - Gaming Discussion - OH MY GOD, HEAVY RAIN IS SO AWESOME

The graphics are more realistic than U2, but not better.  U2 still has the best graphics, followed closely by KZ2.  While still very good, HR graphics aren't quite at their level, although it does have pretty good character models for the most part.  As for gameplay, well it doesn't really feel like HR fits into the category of a game.  More like interactive art, or interactive story telling.  It's like those books where you choose the path, only better because I hate to read.  It's not really a game imo, but that doesn't make it any less entertaining.  Some of the dialogue could use a little tweaking but it was good enough that it didn't take you out of the moment ever.  All in all, I enjoyed them demo, and it made me a bit interested in a "game" that prior to the demo, I really had no interest in.  That said, I just don't know if I can justify $60 for a single player only game these days.  Uncharted Drakes Fortune was the only exception to the rule this generation.  It seems like an entertaining game, and I guess there really is no way to do co op with this, so I understand why it is single player only, but I don't know that I will spend $60 for 10 hours of gameplay only to never to play it again.

well if thats so then i bow to your knowledge on it. but the prostitute for instance.... the face modelling in game didnt look as good as the loading screen i have seen for her face and her legs looked like fat pale sticks.

but anyway thats nit-picking, it looks very good.

I am more concerned about what actually matters.... gameplay.

And how would you know that? You don't have the game for judgment on that.

what do you mean?  I played the prostitute scene and I have seen the close up of her face...  anyway it doesnt matter.  I am nit picking on the visuals... but I still dont think it is as good as U2.

that scene is the one with lauren in or whatever she is called, it is not maddison and her legs do not look that bad, why so negative??

oh for god sake you lot are so defensive over the sony exclusives.... I am not being overly negative...

tell you what...ok.. its awesome, the best game ever and there are no negative aspects for me or anyone else whatsoever.

serioulsy i was not being defensive, i was being fair, the graphics are not that bad, i just pointed it out, because i feel like you are going over the top with your description.

i see your point and i agree on some

but this game seems like to have a high replay value

just like Mass Effect 1 and 2

they have no co op or multiplayer but they are rich on RV

and i do agree with you about the graphics part

Demo ruined it for me, though I got bored and gave up once I hit the FBI guys part. Too many useless QTE(ish) events. I also agree about the clunky movement controls. THe voice acting was hit and miss, and it should be great for a game like this. I was the fat detective and was stuck behind the chicks bed for like a minute due to bad cameras and movement. Graphics are amazing tho, especially during the loading screens. Id rent it or buy it once its clearanced at $10-$20 tho could be a fun story.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Errr.... you do realise that cgi's sig is really quite small compared to a TV...? I'm guessing your playing on a TV so it's never going to look as good when blown up to full HD res.

I played the demo and enjoyed it but still not sure how much fun it will be after a few hours of playing. I will probably rent this game.

Having played the full game, I can say that the bits you play in the demo are the "boring" bits :p

From what I saw of it in the Game-trailers review, the fixed camera and poor movement control looked like a flashback from a poor PS1 game. Technically not so impressive with a fixed camera anyway, but im willing to give it a shot. Can we download the demo without jumping through hoops yet? Im not going to put up with yet another stupid lame ass BS PSN update if its not available to everyone yet.
