Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Gunpei Yokoi....

..if only he was stil alive today.  I wonder what games we would have played if he never died.  I bet you there would be more 2D metroid games out today, especially on the DS.  What do you reckon? I think a Metroid game would be have been released on the N64 had he not died.  He workked on Kid Icarus and I bet he would have made a Kid Icarus game on the SNES, Super Kid Icarus?

He would be nearly 70 today but still a legend.

A epic game that Mario land, I hope Nintendo brings a virtual console type feature on the DSi and put classic games such as this on it, I think it will happen, They did it with Mr game & Watch.

why did he died?

His death was horrible, poor him....

He died in a car accident, he was in a vehicle with Etsuo Kiso, they got hit gently by a truck, so they pulled over and checkd for damage but another car came and swiped them, Yokoi-san was pronounced dead after-wards which sends the chill down my spine. The other guy survived though with whiplash.

He was just being a good samaritan when he was inspecting the accident.
