Forums - Sales Discussion - Prediction: Capcom will announce a major Wii game in 2010

What about Ghouls n goblins? That would fit Nintendo's demographic, methinks.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

I keep hoping and praying for this but I don't think it'll ever happen.  They're too busy releasing shitty 0 effort rail shooters :(

Except it's long dead franchise and last entry was on PSP (and classic version is on PSN).

If Capcom puts something big on Wii it will be either something from SF series as they already have engine or another Monster Hunter or a port of RE5.

The only messes Capcom have made have been when other developers have made certain games, Bionic Commando and Dark Void are two of these.   Capcom developed games have done great on the HD systems this gen.

Not entirely, Lost Planet bombed on PS3.  A lot of their HD downloadables (Rocketmen, Age of Booty, 1942, Commando 3, Flock, etc) underperformed too, which is probably why we've seen them lessen frequency of releases there.  And the Moto GP games tend to do low numbers everywhere.

Yeah, pretty much.  The Maximo games also sort of tanked on PS2, and that was more or less a GnG revival too.

I think Wii owners should brace themselves for more of the same (ie: Monster Hunter 3G/4, TvC2/MvC3, etc).

Come on, it was a year+ late port (of a pretty average game) and sold 500k. I wouldn't say that's a "bomb".

OT:
Street Fighter 4 could be ported pretty easily, as could Res Evil 5. I would expect either of these announced... And possibly another MH game.

It never charted in NPD's top 20 (meaning under 100k sales it's first 2 months, figures never leaked either iirc) and it sold 50k ltd in Japan according to Famitsu.  Capcom never gave out figures, but they gave out Lost Planet PC figures and that was only 400k, which makes me suspect LP PS3 was likely lower even. I'd say it's pretty comparable to Dead Rising Wii actually, only not as late (a year and a half earlier in fact) and not as bad a conversion (framerate hiccups and shitty shadowing versus totally massacred visuals and hugely impacted game design).

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the Colonies rerelease on 360 outsold it.  At the least, it's not exactly a rousing success, selling a third (at most) the original release.  Even PS2-to-Wii ports do better than that (RE4, Okami).

I dunno, had the game shipped 500k, I think Capcom would've told us... like they did when the PC port shipped 400k.

A Lost Planet-like game would work great on Wii.
Still the capcom game I miss the most is Dino Crisis.
