I'm gonna take a shot at this. they're gonna give us release dates for mario galaxy 2, and metroid other m. then they're gonna talk about how the wii and DS are dominating the industry. then they're gonna show the first trailer of Zelda wii and finally they're gonna talk about netflix and tell us "it is NOW available". yes.... that would be awsome.

Zelda, NSMBWii, Metroid other M, SMG 2, Golden Sun...and some still say E3 09 was bad/mediocre? holy crap wonder what a great E3 from Nintendo would look like...

Remember E3 2007? People were like "OH NOEZ NINTY R CASUAL WE IZ ABANDOND!!!!one!!!!" even though only one casual game was even shown. They whine about Nintendo's E3s just so they can hear someone whining about it, I think.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

They will explain exactly how the Wii Vitality Sensor does. It's a device that helps you sleep. The crowd will fall asleep.

Perhaps. But remember that only one of their last two E3's was any good.

yeah 2008 and Wii Sport Resort were awful and yet sold over 10m, imagine if it was great, 2009 was average and had another 10m seller and more coming soon, how bigger can this "good" one be?

probably another revolutionary console, a handheld one?

I'm sorry to single you out, but where are people getting that Nintendo might release a new handheld. There is no reason they should release a new one when the DS is still outselling every console. Iwata has even recognized that the DS is slowing down and they need to create new, exciting software for it. Heck, the US still doesn't have the DSi XL. Not to mention that the DS strategy is to grow the market. Releasing a new handheld would mean Nintendo would have to start all over.

is it possible we could get a few 3rd party announcements too ?

Is it possible that we can get fewer 3rd party announcements.

Honestly, is that actually possible?

I’d be surprised. To beat E309 the summit would have to deliver a few major announcements. Metroid Other M, Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros and even Golden Sun were all pretty major announcements. The only pending major announcements I can think of are a new handheld and Zelda Wii (but Nintendo said they’re saving that for E310). Obviously it depends on what you consider a major announcement but I’m not getting excited just yet.

If Zelda is truly on track for this year, they'd annoyance it there. If that's the case, it would definitely be bigger than E3.

DO IT NINTENDO. PLZ.

Well NGamer doesn't always have the most accurate stories. Also bigger then the last two E3's clumped together that could easily be the case. Now none of us expect Nintendo to unviel the next Zelda till E3 but if Nintendo was to play up this summit and use it like Microsoft used X10 then we could easily see it surpass the last two E3's.

A new handheld is possible. Why? well its been six years since the DS launched and the DS is still performing well however we know the next handheld is well underway and Sony is also preparing the next PSP. So Nintendo might want to reveal the new handheld prior to GDC. Why prior? so that developers are ready to start work on titles for the new platform by the time dev kits could be shipped (GDC). A new handheld alone would make the press event bigger then the last two E3's.

Software wise there are plenty of lower echalon titles Nintendo could unviel yet still save some for E3. Titles like Pikmin3 and Kirby could easily be unvieled since both titles have already been announced years ago. Kirby is actually slated for release during the 2010 fiscal year yet we haven't seen the thing. These titles alone wouldn't be able to make it better then the two E3's combined however when you throw in footage of Metroid:TheOtherM and MarioGalaxy2 with release dates for both you now beat the last two E3's combined.

Nintendo wouldn't have a difficult time beating both E3's also notice they say almost. They don't say it will be better then both combined!
