Forums - Nintendo Discussion - No more heroes 2 being advertised?

WHy do people thin launching an advertising campaign is so easy and that they're "stupid" if they don't? It's very costly and it only pays off for certain games.

Well, its primarily due to the fact that several companies have complained about the relatively lower sales of some of their games when compared to behemoths like GTA4 and MW2, games of which had recieved a poor advertising push. So its hardly reasonable for a game to sell 10million copies when the marketing campaign is no where near the level of a game that DOES sell 10million.

A game like NMH would never appeal to the mainstream audience of any console (much less the Wii), so a major ad campaign probably wouldnt have benefited much. But with NMH2, the audience already exists for the game. A sequel to a successful game would have done very well with a solid push behind it.

NMH 2 is a great game, is a quality title with great production values.Ads sure helped Madworld sell faster than NMH1.You can and should market games like NMH2 just to let people know it already is out.
My guess is that ubisoft is hoping players the spread the word themselves.Basically they want NMH2 to sell over months, rather than quickly(is cheaper for them). But is risky, some retailers might bargain it. Many fans of NMH2 consider it big enough for them to expect TV ads to let them know its out.Is not a wiiware title, is kinda semi big. So when they dont see the ads, they asume is not out and dont go buy it.They are fans but they arent hunting the webs daily to see if its out or not, you see?
