sony had to raise their projections of the ps2 from 5 million to 7 million it's only 3 million under their psp projection i think it'll stay til 2012

PS2 won't be discontinued by SONY for a while, though i predict that by mid-2011 it will completely dead in the west, and that around 2014-2015 it will be officially discontinued.

Also - only a few more million for the PS2 to break that 150 million shipped mark...

It still selling quite well on developing countries due to easy hacking and pirating.

I think will only be discontinued when the Wii starts selling for $150 dollar, that is when will steal the market of the ps2 on those countries since the wii also easy to hack for pirates.

PSP titles are all on PSN already

along with PSone titles

I believe PS2 titles will be released come e3..

and PS2 will be gone in 2011 or 2012.

Looking at the time ps1 was discontinued I'd say in 2012 :)

We'll be able to download any PS2 game before to long, so it doesn't really matter anyway.

i have PS2 launch model (my big brother got it in 2001) i didn 't like games a lot then when i first played FFX everything changed suddenly a year later i found a SNES hidden in my house and also that one was from my big brother but PS3 is mine then i was only playing mario and bought a Gamecube i remember to play mario games but from 2003-2004 and on my hands was on Dual-Shock2 and only until i bought ps3 and sometimes i open my PS2 for example when got Valkyria Profile 2 it didn 't play on PS3 60 Gb model and then opened my PS2 also i still play PS2 games and i am looking forward to some titles PS2 won 't die because it is still enough powerful in the market

it will be a sad day PS2 is a great great system, I remember when I first received my first PS2 , and being blown away by the graphics and all it did, funny, I have a second gen thats about 9 years old, still working perfect, and it has been used sooooo much its crazy, primary dvd player for many years , and played 100s of games time and time again, now my son it putting his hours and hours on it. Great system , never a problem
