The problem with gamekult is it has to suit them, or it gets bashed tremendously. If they didn't like how 'floaty' Sackboy was, that would've meant some serious points being docked for LBP.
They're strict, but not always for the right reasons imho

I agree that they tend to be strict but I also often agree with their remarks. They just seem to take a lot of points off (meaining they are not cared to put low scores).
I see what you mean but I think that is the point of the review (ie it is one man's, or woman's taste). This implies that we will not always agree but I guess, as I like them, that we just have the same taste.
Elaine: I will never understand people
Jerry: They're the worst.

tis a innnovative type of game, on that they will give it a 10.

Yeah, I actually checked out Desctructoid's website. I looked at the mass effect 2 review and saw it was a given a 100 or a 10/10; and in the comments section someone said good thing it wasn't jim who reviewed this or it would have gotten a 4.5. This kind of angered me bc if one reviewer on a website is a consistently lower scorer, then how is it fair to let him review any games? Because whichever games he reviews will get a lower score than they would if any other reviewer had reviewed them. So the games that he reviews get screwed over, and that's not fair. And this really sucks for Heavy Rain bc it would probably be at a 90 or 91 now rather than an 89. What do u guys thing? |
yeah he also gave dragon age origins a 7.5, which is strange because it was a goty contender.

Edge gave a 5.0 to Dragon Age Origins.

I actually think this stands the best bet for being accurate as its non-profit they have no pay-offs or need to report to a higher order (*cough* fox *cough*), in their own words -

"No Fuss Reviews was developed at the start of 2008 by founder Matthew Riches as a non profit website with the specific aim of providing a brief review for a video game as quickly as possible, which is not biased and impartial. As the website has grown so has our database and team of reviewers, all of which are gamers; real people who are passionate about video games."

So I'm sticking with 10/10 - must buy (I was going to anyways but oh well lol)

I never understand edge scores.
gekkokamen said: @Kantor and how did you exactly determine that site is "proffesional" ??? are you actually reading and looking at the examples I'm providing? c'mon... What does GAMER STYLE have that VGC don't? how do you explain the "weight" the assign to some NOOB reviews for their meta? how do you explain these sites' reviews are submitted to metacritic for some games but not for others when they actually have these reviews?? W . T. F . ???? |
The gamer style website is down, but if I were to guess, I would assume that they have more reviews, and have been reviewing for longer.
I'm surprised it only got a 8.9 with the final score considering what they were saying during the review. Thoought it would have got a 9.2/9.3 or something.
Also, not surprised with the 7 that edge gave it.....they really are predicatable...although I honestly thought they would have pushed up to an 8 for a change...it's a dead cert that GOW3 will get an 8 maximum.
Prediction (June 12th 2017)
Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.
PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)
PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)
