Very True..But that SmashDojo treatment was brilliant. I've never done midnight launches for games in the past but Brawl caught me.

Didn't Brawl go on to become the best selling fighting game of all time?

That's really something. I wonder what the rest of the list looks like..I'd imagine the earlier Tekkens would be up there? SF2?

But none of those were close to 10m I don't think. Also, wasn't Sonic revealed to be a playable character in brawl at a media summit? MHTri cofirmed to have switched platforms at a media summit? I don't like to get over hyped, but this might be something to really keep an eye on.

Yeah, I think that for them to be making a Summit this year, there's something important going on, after all, GDC is just around the corner and E3 is not that far away either.

The most probable cause of this summit though is the lack of a summit last year and the lack of any event where they made any announcements since E3 last year. And considering that they never attend TGS, and that in last year's TGS Wii was the least represented machine, they need to strart announcing, showing or simply creating interest in consumers again. NSMBWii is just a temporal boost, soon enough the Wii could start going down if there's no interest in the console's upcoming library, and the region that mostly needs this is Japan, so I think there will be big news for a Worldwide audience, they will make a recap in Japan on the same week. Europe is getting the summit as well.

I'm going with the unveiling of the GPGPU and a new SDK to use it. That would almost be a "new platform".

probablly NOA will talk about certain games localization, and give us more info about the games already in the list for this year. it's unlikely they'll give us some surprise, GDC and E3 are around the corner.

Is anyone expecting Zelda Wii to be unveiled? The magazines could have the first exclusive hands-on, that could be the surprises they were hinting about. If not, GDC seems the right place to officially announce with a proper title and a video, it due to the history of the recent Zelda announcements.

And if none happens, I'm totally sure it will be at E3. Zelda Wii is close.

Between Mario Kart, Smash Brawl and Wii Sports, Wii can already claim the best selling title in each game's genre (racing, fighting and sports respectively).  I wonder if they'll be able to snag any others?

Actually, has DS managed any?  It had racing with Mario Kart (before Wii took it) and it probably has quiz (Brain-Age), but anything else?
