Yeah, I think that for them to be making a Summit this year, there's something important going on, after all, GDC is just around the corner and E3 is not that far away either.

The most probable cause of this summit though is the lack of a summit last year and the lack of any event where they made any announcements since E3 last year. And considering that they never attend TGS, and that in last year's TGS Wii was the least represented machine, they need to strart announcing, showing or simply creating interest in consumers again. NSMBWii is just a temporal boost, soon enough the Wii could start going down if there's no interest in the console's upcoming library, and the region that mostly needs this is Japan, so I think there will be big news for a Worldwide audience, they will make a recap in Japan on the same week. Europe is getting the summit as well.
