Splinter Cell never been good on Playstation consoles, it was always better on xbox, so i think this is a good thing.

I'm not saying it will come to the PS3, but reiterating exclusivity means nothing these days.
even if it does come out late on the ps3, nice to see them being explicit about rather than some people...
We get it, CGI. You like exclusives. Even if they're not exclusive.
Good they can keep that game that i don't want to play.
Seems to me there are more than enough console exclusives on both consoles for there to be adequate differentiation. I don't know why you're so strongly in favour of 3rd parties making exclusive games, CGI. With the PS3 install base reaching a respectable level there really is very little business justification (moneyhatting aside) for 3rd parties to be exclusive unless there are specific hardware limitations that make a game not feasible on one or more gaming platform. I generally hold the opposite view. I don't see why I should need to buy more than one piece of hardware to play any console games that are made by 3rd parties (hardware limitations notwithstanding). In fact why would 3rd party developers want people to spend the money on buying a 2nd or 3rd console when it could go towards purchasing 5 or 6 games? For a game developer, the less money the consumer spends on hardware the better. It's one of Pachter's few opinions I strongly agree with.
In general I think it's pretty bad form for a franchise that was multiplat to go exclusive. However in this case with a probable 6:1 difference in sales of Double Agent it seems this decision could be justified. Athough Bioshock as a similar differential and its 2nd game for the generation is staying multiplat.
2K however have learned that timed exclusivity doesn't work so PS3 is getting Bioshock 2 at the same time as 360/PC. This time round I expecty to see PS3 getting a better proportion of sales (though 360 will still be well ahead). Ubisoft are better off keeping Conviction exclusive because another delayed release on PS3 in the Splinter Cell franchise would probably do relatively poorly just like Double Agent. There are enough games out and coming out for PS3 that people will simply not bother with a delayed release (which always gets very little marketing as well). Better to work on their next multiplat game being released and promoted simultaneously.
