We're in the thread because it's titled "motion control winner" (Wii) and it's about who will win the motion control war (Wii). Neither Natal nor Arc will 'win' simply by selling more than the other, just like XBox or Gamecube could not win by simply selling more than the other, their main fight is with the dominating player, Nintendo. |
No it isn't ... go read the OP again.
i didn't read everything, but as a reply to the argument wether software or hardware will be the deciding factor, it's simply that the hardware needs to be good enough to play good games, and good games need to be there too.
If the hardware is bad, there won't be good software.

I think with no games revealed at full status we no nothing as it seems we will wait months to see the devices get released

So you disagree with Demotruk's point that because both Sony and Microsoft's new interfaces were introduced as direct responses to the Wii, their success can only be measured against the Wii and not against each other.
What are your reasons for thinking that MS and Sony care to compete against each other? Do you really think that they don't want a piece of the expanded market?

My opinion on the matter is irrelievent, I'm talking about what pachter is talking about in the OP, he's talking PS3 vs 360, not Wii vs PS360 .....
and the title is not about the "winner of motion controls" he doesn't even mention "winner" and if it was mentioned it's about who will win between Sony vs Microsoft.
Do we need a token "wii has won the motion controller market" every Natal/Arc sales thread? hmm?
The title of the thread is "Pachter Predicts Motion Control Winner". The topic is the motion control war. Even if we say that it's not about who wins and instead it's only about how much Natal and Arc sell, are you telling me that even though the entire point of Natal and Arc is to compete directly with Nintendo, that Nintendo will be a non-factor in whether or not Natal and Arc sell?

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Sales threads, no. Possible winner, yes.
We don't know if Wii has won yet, Sony said Wii owners will upgrade to a PS3 and Pedo Miloneux said Natal is going to be bigger than the computer mouse.

You should totally scratch that! It's not ok at all.
Edit:
I was a bit to late I guess.

This is an excellent point! Never looked at it this way before.
