If you count that, then you might as well say that WRPG's evolved from Baldur's Gate or Planescape Torment, just because they approached a similar level on consoles.

If a JRPG would do the same it always did on consoles, but on PC only, would you call that an evolution?  

It's an evolution of console FPS. The ones we had before only had local co-op and multiplayer. Yeah there were a very few that had online multiplayer & co-op but not as many features and customizations like we see today. We no longer need PCs to play online and do all that stuff PC FPS had, minus the mods. And not all FPS are getting rave reviews. Just look at MAG and Army of Two 40th day.

As for the JRPG thing, if you're saying that if a typical JRPG hits the PC, then no I don't really see it as an evolution.

Aha, I see. So, FPS's doing the same thing on consoles that they were doing on PC's is an evolution to the genre (consoles FPS's is not a genre, FPS is, don't spin the term), but if JRPG's start doing the same on PC's that they were doing on consoles, then it is not an evolution?

Yeah, I think this game is going to be SE's last venture on the HD twins. It'll get horrible reviews and reception and SE will go back to making games with substance on Nintendo platforms instead of CGI circle-jerks.

lol are you kidding? bad reception and reviews?! the game had already sold nearly 2 million copies on japan only and it has a metacritic of 87 even though it still had not been released in the west yet.

 

And didn't SE announce versus and 14 on the PS3.

Honestly, a new IP with similar gameplay and graphics would be getting 9s and 10s even if it was linear and the story stank.

Considering FFX-2's metacritic rating... a game getting a LOWER score because of the FF name would be a first.
