Where are you guys getting the information that the 360 is overtracked?

Is this just your opinion or do you have some source or concrete reasoning?

 Wishful thinking.

Currently playing..........

Gears of War 2, GTA IV Lost and Damned, Little Big Planet (Yes I said I had no interest but my girl wanted to try it and we did and now Im hooked )

They don't have any proof. Diomedes reckons that Sony have sold 100,000 PS3's in France alone in the last 4 weeks. This would essentially be a five or six fold increase on previous levels sustained over an entire month and simply is not possible without any good game releases (or even with them). But it's difficult to be a Sony fan on a sales site at the moment, as it deals primarily in fact rather than opinion.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Daamn, I predicted 13,5 million :(

Predictions for December 31st 2008:
Wii 38,000,000
DS 84,500,000
PS3 17,000,000
PSP 41,000,000
X360 23,000,000

yeah it should hit 16 mil atleast...

holidays == tons of sales (especially now with halo)

As far as total sales this year it will only have to beat last years number by 10 percent to make 16m. According to this site the 360 sold 2.55m units between Nov 11th and the end of December 2006. If it tops that by 10 percent that will be 2.8m + the current 13.2 = 16m.

Also according to this site this week tracked 20 percent above the same week last year, so that 10 percent does not seem at all unreasonable. And that increase comes after the draining of the pent up demand from the Halo launch so it would seem sustainable.

I think it will do better at christmas, it really should. The only game last year was Gears... I'm betting 17 at least. Christmas spikes seems to be the biggest the 3rd and 4th christmas, cant see why this wouldn't be the case for 360.

Oh there ain't no fucking way it can hit 16-18 million. Start thinking reasonably. First of all we have overtracked a little bit in Europe for the 360. Namely French sales. Secondly we have overtracked a lot in America for 360 ever since October hit. Should have gone down a lot more than we put it.

And 3rdly how much do you think 360 is oging to sell in the next 6 weeks. You really think it'll sell about 3-5 million. Come on Wii is probably going to sell about 6 million in that timeframe and that's with strenghts in all markets. 360 only has strenghts in one. Get real. 360 sales by the end of the year probably somewhere from 15-16 million.

While I'll agree with you that 18 million is a bit high, I do think there's a very good chance of 16 million + sales.

Regarding the "overtracked" sales: what are you basing this off? Are you just upset and "think" they are being overtracked because it's not what you want to be true (in other words, wishfull thinking?)? Or do you actaully have some concrete evidence backing this up? It seems to me that ioi tweaks his numbers occasionally, so any mistakes are edited out. Even if he made many mistakes, I don't see why the 360 in particular would be overtracked any more often than the other systems. Statistically speaking, I would imagine that in any given week some will be overtracked/undertracked and these errors, in a way, fix themselves as time goes on.

If you could prove to me otherwise with real figures, I might take you more seriously, though (because as of now you just sound like someone who is anti-MS wishfully thinking it can't be true that the 360 pushing the numbers VGChartz lists).

Some of you guys need to shut the hell up about consoles being over tracked.

it was under tracked in the U.S. in september....by vg

I don't understand why you feel the need to come here and insult people by calling them noobs. All they did was make their best guesses/predictions as to what the consoles would sell. Of course there is going to be guesses/predictions that fall all over the place. There is just too many variables and opinions for them not to.

I don't remember you putting yourself on the line and stating what the consoles would end up like at the end of the year. Maybe you should grow a pair and actually make predictions like the people you're criticizing before you go pointing fingers. I have a feeling you wouldn't be all that accurate either.

OT: The Xbox is exceeding a lot of people's expectations which is great. Most people didn't expect it's exceptional game line-up to translate so well into hardware sales. It's nice to see a larger audience taking notice of high quality games and not paying so much attention to which company is bringing them to their tv.

Diomedes doesn't need facts, Diomedes warps his perspective so his insights become facts in his private little Sony fanboy world
