Dont worry kojima promised that you will have more than 50 hours of gameplay in MGS4.

They should make killzone 2 longer, and make resistance twice as long as before. Uncharted was rushed like heavenly sword. They needed to release spme ps3 exclusives this year. FF XIII development started already(gameplay footage came out in tgs) I hope its at least 25 hours.
Leo have you played FF games before just curious? Because FF games are not that short 25hours should not even be minimum atleast not on Sony consoles. When did Kojima say 50hours? Seems overkill should not be that long.

By 25 hours, you really mean 100 hours. Seriously, I spent 70hours on FF XII, and that is not long, I still had a tonne of sidequests to do, but then my PS3 came...

Are you sure you aren't mixed up with the 50GB discs? No way you're going to see 50 straight hours of gameplay in MGS4, that would definitely be a bit overboard.
However, I wouldn't be surprised if MGS4 clocked in close to, preferably well above, a solid 20 hours, plus extra incentives/game modes.

A Final Fantasy game should definitely be far more than 25 hours. It's an RPG, a good one would definitely last you around 100 hours, side-quests included.

On topic, Uncharted is turning out to be quite the game. The ol' PS2 main-stay developers are delivering nicely. Definitely picking this one up.

Are there any PS3 owners here who aren't getting it day 1 or soon after? (or even at all)

Nope, day one purchase here.

@Leo J- I very much doubt there will be 50 hours of gameplay in MGS4. You're probably misinformed.

Game length is a tricky thing, because (1) replayability is a fundamental part of gaming, and (2) making an action game longer than, say, 8 hours is really, really difficult. Max Payne, still one of the greatest FPS games ever made, was about eight or nine hours long, in terms of game-play. But it was so well done, you kept coming back for more.

Judging from the demo and reviews, Naughty Dog nailed it - they cut the action down to the core blockbuster suspense, and they created interesting, empathic characters, and ran with that puppy.

It was actually a third person shooter. I definetly agree though, how could anyone not love it? With such memorable bits like:

Frank Niagara: Pleased to meet you. I'm Frankie "The Bat" Niagara.

Max Payne: Niagara, as in you cry a lot?

Max (narrating): He had a baseball bat, and I was tied to a chair. Pissing him off was the smart thing to do.

Classic.

I'll predict a 9.0 just to be safe!!

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

Predict no more regin, as you're late!

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I've got around 60-80 hours in FFXII, but I wasn't there for like half of them. I made use of the gambits for a very time saving (leave it going all night) auto-leveling stragety for all my characters. While they're in the 60-70's in level, the final boss battles required a bit of work on my part to try and manage them. Partly because I don't really feel like dredging through the gambits, and because I just don't care that much anymore.

I don't even know if I can go through with all the side quests. FFXII never really stuck with me like FFX did (which I have 80 hours on one file with only three characters ubered up).
