It was actually a third person shooter. I definetly agree though, how could anyone not love it? With such memorable bits like:
Frank Niagara: Pleased to meet you. I'm Frankie "The Bat" Niagara.
Max Payne: Niagara, as in you cry a lot?
Max (narrating): He had a baseball bat, and I was tied to a chair. Pissing him off was the smart thing to do.
