PS3 just seems to be settling above the Wii at this point. We'll have to wait one more week to know for certain but with no major software releases to boost HW last week it's new baseline could potentially be in the mid 20ks. Metroid could give Wii a slight boost but considering it's not even the first game in the franchise on the Wii and the series was never big in Japan to begin with I can't see it being up by more than 2k-3k. So most likely PS3 will be on top next week.

Not true, the original Metroid on FDS was a million seller and even Super Metroid sold over 600k. The problem with Metroid in Japan is that it took a decade off, then came back as a western developed FPS. Other M is (partially) a response to that, though at this point I think the damage may just be done.
PS3 won this week by a 5k margin.

Wii is on top this year 18 weeks vs 17 for the PS3. With this week's numbers things could get even. So any predictions for the rest of the year?

Well my guess is that it's gona be close, PS3 edging by 3k?

This week also marks the biggest winning streak so far this year, with the PS3 winning 7 consecutive weeks.
