GT3 broke ~15 Million on a much smaller userbase.

I think 10-15 Million for GT5 if launched this fall is more than likely.

Sony doesnt have many big seller franchises, but Gran Turismo is a franchise many publisher are dreaming of. (except Nintendo perhaps(; )

Nearly 5m on PS3's userbase for a prologue is simply insane. GT5 will be massive no doubt about it. Probably PS3's first 10m+ seller.

14 Million Vs. ~33 Million Userbase

GT5:P is only a "demo" many people are just waiting until GT5 releases (like me - and im a big fan of the GT series)

while ODST was considered as a Spin off by Bungie/MS and Stand alone add-on by the press.

I doubt a Halo: Reach 4 hours demo+ some multiplayer modes and maps would have sold over 4,5 million.

GT5p you had to buy, demo or not you had to buy it. Halo ODST you had to buy and both sold.

If games are huge there gonna sell, no matter how long the story is or even if its a demo.

I expect GT5 P to get through 5M before GT5 releases

No, GT PSP will get to 4 million easily
PSP games tend to have huge legs, just look at how Buzz Quiz Master opened or look at FF7:CC or GoW:CoO legs.

GT4:P had the Gran Turismo Title on the box art too, but still only sold like 1,5 million.
Just like Halo Wars.
GT5:P proofs that Gran Turismo is still a 10 million+ franchise, even though many people saying otherwise.
