Very weird. Just checked my local stores and...

1) Gamestops

PS3: none have PS3 120's OR 250's. 10 local stores.
WII: All sold out as well
360: 2 of 10 sold out on Arcade. 1 sold out of Elite (they do not overlap)

2) Bestbuy

PS3: no 120's and no 250's (cant even do a store check on the 120s) 6 local stores
WII: 2 of 6 sold out of WII.
360: All 6 stores have both SKU of 360 available.

3) Target

PS3: only 1 store with 120's/250's (tho says low availability). 10 local stores.
WII: onlly 1 store with console (exactly the same low ava in one store as ps3)
360: 2 of 10 stores sold out of both SKU. 1 store sold out of only Elite.

Very weird. I live in Raleigh, NC just for completeness sake.

anyways, i cant keep PS3s or Wiis in stock. I got 6 PS3s and like 10 Wiis in last weekend. sold out in less then 4 hours.

When did these apparent shortages start? They certainly aren't reflected in the sales figures for the past couple of weeks.

Also the whole 2.X millions of PS3s that couldn't possibly sitting in warehouses could very well be stock for the release of a revised model. Sony certainly had plenty of stock ready for the release of the Slim and if one could have looked at the shipped versus sales data in the couple of weeks prior to it's release there would have been a huge discrepancy. I'm not suggesting anything of that magnitude but the same principle could apply.

It would be a curious move if anything new was coming from Sony. Obviously the black Wii is due in the US sooner or later but I would expect that it would sold alongside the white one and not as a replacement.

the full model is kdl-46vl150, I believe a few others have kdl-46vl160 which has a lower dynamic contrast. Either way, its just what I read about in in the AVS forums. Could be wrong.

I really like it though. Solid TV.

Hmm I wonder what's going on. Even with big holidays, why is the Wii (and other systems apparently) seemingly hard to find in some places? I don't dare speculate what Nintendo is up to, but I could see Sony doing some sort of relaunch with the arc... but that isn't until the fall. I have no idea.

PS3 just had a redesign, 360 will save any big redesign for the Natal launch which is expected to come much later in the year. So I wouldn't expect anything 'big' from either of them.

That leaves Nintendo, which has rumours of a 'new platform...'

Nah, maybe a new colour or two, but nothing major. I'm gonna go with this being some sort of odd coincidence. Maybe stores in your area are really poorly managed.
