This is what I was thinking. Maybe the 250GB PS3 is dropping to $300 and Black Wii's are coming out.

Eitherway, I think I'll wait a week before getting my PS3. Maybe this Superbowl will have some big advertising related to this.

hmm it seems something is happening -- SONY better hurry up and get some stock out there or they will suffer in the long term and i it makes me feel like the PS3 is undertracked here, as i find it hard to believe 2 million consoles on shelves = shortages.

(Also remember SONY/Microsoft/Nintendo reported sold+shipped to retailer numbers NOT sell through or manufactured numbers)

Well here in Sweden I see tons of Ps3s 360s and Wiis in every major store.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought there's been a rumor about the elite being discontinued floating around for a week or two now. And obviously we've known black Wiis were coming for a while. A new PS3 SKU though, isn't that a bit premature? The 120 gig SKU has only been around for 5 months. Of course this could all just be speculation.

Sony is most likely holding back on stock until they break even on PS3, which should be about the beginning of March.

It doesn't really make sense that they'd replace the 120gb model with the 250gb, since it just came out in what September? The 120gb model is also selling moderately well, so there is no reason. Sony is just finally bringing out the 250gb model in Japan and the price 34,900 yen correlates well with the US price of $349.

Black Wii's I could see, but they would still be stocking White Wii's as well. In Japan, both colors are sold side-by-side.

I don't know about March, but I agree with the first part of the sentence, as to why nintendo is holding stock, I honestly don't know.

Only 2 possible new things for PS3 at this point: Large HDD in baseline model. PS2 discontinued and PS3 b/c emulation on new consoles.

Personally I'm picking larger HDD.

No clue on the other consoles.
