Forums - Gaming - What if E3 was made virtual for consoles?

I just started thinking that with the online services of Live and PSN what if they offered a 1 Week Virtual E3 at the time of E3??

Companies could submit the demo's they have set up at e3 for download, you can get live high qaulity streaming of all the press events happening. Small editorial feeds.

Of course it wouldn't be as cool as actually being there, but it would still be nice to be able to watch some booth events that sometimes don't get tapped or to be able to demo the new games being shown.

Anyone like that idea? Any suggestions? How much would you be willing to pay? I would say a good 10 - 15 bucks would be worth it.

EDIT: I also say 6 days that way if you missed the live streaming you could download what you missed.

that would be one hell of a show but it will kill the real world attraction.i would love it to remain the way it is.it is my dream to to go to an E3 love when i am older

Cool idea but i think it would be too much extra work for the developers who are already stretched to get 'playable' demos ready for the show floor.

I don't think it would kill it. The actual experience would be so much better then the virtual one. It's like A.) I can watch the superbowl/Concert on TV  or B.) I can actually go there.

When you're actually there it's amazing, but for the millions who can't, they still get a small taste. Not only that, they can actually start making a small profit on this.

Love the idea, would make you feel a part of E3!

All I wanted was video streaming for each conference on its respective console.

Being able to play demos right at home would completely kill the purpose of having a show with thousands of people traveling to LA.

Well the thing is that there is new hardware and other systems to demo out, so it's not like you would be able to do everything. I think it would hype people up more for those fantastic games that get announced. Give a a small small taste of whats to come as long as they make it clear the demo is in early early development etc.

That would be awesome. If they were really generous they could have a temporary Home area shaped like it where you walk around, watch trailers and use your credit card to preorder games at a Gamestop or other stores.

Wouldn't happen since a lot of the demos are hands off and behind closed doors.  It would be what you already have...a series of videos.

Even the hands on demos, those aren't ready for the general public.  They are meant for you to play a specific way the person that is showing it tells you to go.
