Forums - Nintendo Discussion - No More Heroes 2 sales watch.

sales are good if the legs are like the first one. I'm not dissapointed, but i am a little worried that it might not have the legs of the first game. It's still a niche game, i'm not expecting a whole lot.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

"the wii was at 9 million in NA when NMH was released. the wii now is at 31.5 million

so the sequel only went up by around 5 thousand units?"

Name one game where the sequel sold the equivalent of the userbase increase.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

um...wii fit plus

but no stores really order a lot of copies of this game. The games stop I went only ordered 2. And one was the one I preordered. If more people had preodered the game than it may have been different as its hard to find in stores.

Can't say I was expecting a big difference between NMH1 and NMH2. They really should've given the game some advertising.

Then again calling the game a failure or whatever is really premature. How many cases for Wii games have there been where sales appear low at first but then grow to respectable numbers over time?

But then it boils down to one's definition of "respectable" and if one is arguing these definitions more than the sales themselves that usually means the game performed less than stellar. Some games sell a lot and some games sell considerably less, I don't see how that can be so hard to accept.

What is respectable anyway? Maybe they should apply the same terms to reviews (total score: respectable). I'm not trying to be a dick but I'm curious as to why these threads pop up for these games all the time (Zack & Wiki, NMH, Madworld, The Conduit). If the point is to show that the Wii moves 3rd party "hardcore" titles there are other examples to be used which would be a lot more beneficial to illustrate the point (allthough with these opening sales I can certainly see why people make the opposite argument to begin with).

Very low numbers for a 90% rated game of such high caliber, imo.

Except 90% often get low sales. See both versions of Okami and the PS3 port of Bioshock.

WTF No More Heroes 2 is out already? Why don't I own it yet?!

Currently playing: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, NBA2k11, Metal Gear Solid, Picross 3d

The first No More Heroes was Suda's most successful game ever. So successful that Marvelous decided that it would be worth porting to HD consoles.

With one week of sales in one region, NMH2 is currently outperforming its predecessor. Until new information arrives that suggests it isn't doing as well as its predecessor, I'm going to call it a success.
