Forums - Microsoft - Risen vs. Venetica

They are both RPG's that released in Germany just recently. They are getting released in NA sometime in 2010 and are availible

for Xbox 360 and PC. I was wondering if anybody knows any details about these games and if they are worth playing. To me Venetica looks like a Fable type like game while Risen looks like a ...I'm not really sure what but they both look good. And one more thing, does anyone know the exact release dates for these games?

Thanks,

Wayne Rooney is the best!  Manchester United rules!

I'm pretty sure on the Gamespot preview I saw, Risen is set for late this month, don't remember the date though.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

venetica = rpg / action adventure mixture, very very nice story and main character, very charming game. linear
risen = gothic ; therefore part of the most real WRPG franchise up to date. Elder Scrolls never had an edge on gothic when it comes to being engaged in the world.
i played through risen, the first 30 hours are just as brilliant as former gothics, the ending is.. lets say.. a bit annoying ( last hours ).
but both worth buying if u like the style. which u seem to.

How can 720p be considered HD when it looks like ugly snow grains on my 22'' screen?

Try Risen's PC edition cause it's light years away from its 360 little (ugly) brother.
On PC, Risen is just fabulous.

America gets an graphically updated 360 version.

Doesn't mean it will look better on consoles, but it could be enough to not care which version to get.

Well, I finished the game in 32 hours. There is an easy quaestion. Do you fancy Gothic 2?

That's the criteria here. In some parts of the games I felt like having deja-vus.

@Barozi. Oh, I hope the American version is updated and bested cause the European one was atrocious in some aspects, though not unplayable.

Anyway, if the version is better and region free, I will get the game for my 360 too. I want the achievements!

So yeah, I recommend the title to every European RPG admirer.

I never played Gothic 2. Gothic 3 seemed okay, but I didnt play that one either, only the demo if I recall correctly.

I played the Risen demo and thought it was good. Maybe I will invest 32 hours in the full game then. ^^

Τhe situation with Gothic 3 was so frustrating.
Upon launch, the game was unplayable on my old (but strong at the day) PC. ATI card.
I know people who had no such severe problems. Anyway the game was vigorous for my PC and I didn't manage to play it untill I upgraded my PC and patched the game with the community 890mb patch.
The game now is almost smooth, and is really good.
